10/29: webinar AAUW Work Smart salary negotiations

An AAUW Work Smart salary negotiation workshop will be held as a webinar on October 29 at 11:30 AM Pacific Time by the FRIENDS of the Commission on the Status of Women, San Francisco facilitated by AAUW national. The webinar is open to all, across California and beyond. Funding for this workshop has been provided by AAUW San Francisco branch.

October 29 is Latina Equal Pay Day. It takes Latina workers almost an entire extra year of full time, year-round work to be paid the average annual earnings of white men because they are paid only 55% of a white man’s wages.

10/25: Women In STEM: A Career Panel

Here is a great opportunity to keep in touch with your past Tech Trekkers and provide an opportunity for them to engage with women in science.

AAUW San Francisco, under the leadership of Rosaura Valle, has partnered with the Bay Area Science Festival (BASF) to present a panel on STEM careers for women which is appropriate for Tech Trek alumni. The panel discussion will be held this Sunday, October 25 at 12:30 PM.
